SAGES is developing various groups and activities across Suffolk. To find out more, have a look and see what’s available in your area:
Open Space – Open Space groups are held in libraries. They are provided in partnership with our local mental health trust NSFT and other mental health community support providers Julian Support, Richmond Fellowship and Suffolk Mind.
The groups are held weekly with different activities and discussion topics. They are staffed by a combination of mental health staff, support workers and library staff. For information on timetables, please click here.
Making Space… Time for Mental Health Family Carers – Making Space groups provide one to one assistance and opportunities to access and share information. Groups are run by Suffolk Family Carers building on peer support. Making Space groups are county wide and can be set up in your area.
Currently there are five groups operating with a view to establishing more. Groups are initially staffed by mental health support workers with invited speakers or outings. The groups can become peer led and are influenced by carers views and expectations.
Peer Support Groups – Peer support brings together people with shared experiences to help one another through talking, listening, group discussions and activities.
